Nykaa wanted to move beyond being perceived as a retailer and establish itself as a cultural authority in the beauty and lifestyle space, one that could lead conversations, communities, and experiences.
The Idea
To co-create a first-of-its-kind, ticketed beauty festival that blended commerce with culture. A platform where shopping met self-expression, learning met entertainment, and influencers met fandom, all within an immersive, live environment.
Brand Labs' Role
Led end-to-end conceptualisation and development of the Nykaaland IP in close partnership with Nykaa. Designed a community-first festival format rooted in discovery, creativity, and personal expression. The experience incorporated beauty masterclasses, sensory installations, musical performances, influencer meet-ups, and brand activations, ensuring every element aligned with Nykaa's brand values and audience preferences.
Impact
Thousands of ticketed attendees across three editions, with geographic expansion into New Delhi. Over 100 beauty and lifestyle brands showcased through experience-first, interactive booths. Substantial digital engagement and social media amplification extending well beyond the festival dates.
Takeaway
Nykaaland transformed Nykaa from a D2C brand into a live cultural force, giving it a proprietary platform it fully owns, grows, and evolves. The initiative repositioned Nykaa as a cultural institution rather than a traditional retailer.
